Knowledge Base: How do I put money in my buckets so I can spend it?
You can put money in your buckets in three ways:
- Create a deposit transaction and assign it to a bucket
- Create a money flow by dragging one bucket to another to
another and fill in an amount when prompted
- Click Allocate Income on your button bar to fill multiple buckets at once according to your spending plan
Typically the first method is used for income buckets and the latter two are used to fill expense buckets.
Allocate Income creates the same money flows as the more manual method of dragging and dropping buckets on top of one another, it's simply a more automated method.
If this is your first month using MoneyWell, you may need to set up your cash flow start amount. See "How do I tell MoneyWell how much money I have to spend at the start?" for help with this process.
